Miles David Howard, 29, of Vancouver passed away July 25, 2017. He was born June 30, 1988 in Portland, Oregon.

Miles spent most of his childhood in White Salmon and Vancouver, Washington. He attended five high schools before graduating from Lewis & Clark Alternative Studies through Skyview High School in 2006. Miles then attended three colleges, earning as Associate of Arts from Clark College and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from WSUV. Always looking to expand his mind, Miles continued into graduate studies, nearly completing 3 Master's degrees. Miles worked as a youth counselor at the Janus House, where he was employed on and off for about 5 years.

Miles had many diverse interests. He loved music. He wrote music, was the lead singer in several bands, played guitar, keyboard and loved to dance. He was an avid reader, enjoyed stand-up comedy, old video games and arcade games, the outdoors, and movies. Miles made no distinction between "family" and "friend", as everyone was family. He was a long time participant in the Oregon Country Fair and went to Burning Man twice. Even though he was allergic to cats, he adopted a kitty eight years ago and named her Bjork.

Remember Miles for his kindness, his laughter, his funny faces, and his spontaneous sing-alongs! He had a way of pulling people together, either one-on-one or in groups, old and new friends. Remember the talks, the movies, the arcades, the comedy shows, and camping. Think about the Battle of the Bands, the tavern shows, house shows, and the concerts.oh, so many concerts! He loved Halloween and any other excuse to dress-up. He wore cheap sunglasses, bright watches, and loved to change his hair styles. Many of us have mixed tapes from Miles and/or songs that we will always associate with Miles as we listen to them for the rest of our lives. Hold onto your memories and share them with others.

Miles is survived by his parents, Jennifer & Andy Hudson; brothers, Luke J. Smith, Levi Granger Hudson, and Sawyer Vincent Hudson; grandparents, Emmons Miles, David & Pam Smith, and Karen & Ronald Hudson; great grandfather, George Matoian; uncles and aunts, Lawson Smith & Dax Mason, Kevin & Chris Howard, Hillary & Victor Hulstrand, and Heather & Pete Kummer. He is also survived by Paul Barrall, Jean Hendricks, Dori, Melissa and many more loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Kraig Howard; grandmother, Susan Miles; great-grandmother, Emilé Matoian; aunts, Janice Smith and Kelly Howard; and great-grandfather, Vincent Mousel.
